PgUp Performances Thursday 28 June

Notice Gallery, Deptford, looking warm and inviting on a typical English summer day

Thursday evenings event went very well in real life at Notice Gallery, and in Second Life at Virtual Haidplatz, Odyssey. AOM were on top form and premiered two pieces as part of their set. Fau Ferdinand and Gazira Babeli's All n00bs are Sailors was fun, beautiful and terrifying! We were interrupted towards the end of the evening by the rolling restart, which meant that Douglas Story's installation, Chambers and Landscapes did not get the attention it deserved. Luckily Douglas has promised to get up very early on Saturday to show us round his work.
Below are some generous extracts from the chat log and some photos from the event. I was unable to take many RL photos myself once everything started, but as I write this post, the first photos taken by guests and helpers at the show are appearing in my in-box, so expect some in the next blog post! The event was also video'd in Notice Gallery. Clips will be uploaded after editing on Monday ...

PgUp Artist: Douglas Story aka Dennis Schaefer

For Pages Exhibition, each of our artists is answering a set of three questions, and providing us with a self-portrait and an image of the place they work, or sit and dream ...today, Douglas Story...

self-portrait: "Mr Cool"

Douglas Story, aka Dennis Schaefer, is a photographer from California who has recently extended his practice into Second Life. This has enabled him to present his large scale images in novel ways. He shows me round his exhibition - Chambers and Landscapes - at Angel Dorei gallery on Solaris ...

Douglas Story: good afternoon. Evening. Whatever.
spinster Voom: early evening here
Douglas Story: nice LBD!

Douglas Story: I use the mouse wheel to go in and out of mouselook all the time.
Douglas Story: but many folks don't
spinster Voom: how u do that?
spinster Voom: i can go into mouselook like that
spinster Voom: but then get stuck
Douglas Story: just roll back on the wheel
spinster Voom: k, will try it
spinster Voom: oh yeh!
spinster Voom: that works
Douglas Story: ta da!
spinster Voom: :-)
Douglas Story: I use it constantly.
Douglas Story: go ahead and step thru
spinster Voom: ok...

spinster Voom: wow!
Douglas Story: you've seen this before, right?

Douglas Story: I stuck the lens into the trumpet of the flower
spinster Voom: native to where you live?
Douglas Story: No, at Huntington Gardens
Douglas Story: but they have lots of exotic species of plants there
Douglas Story: including a very English landscape
spinster Voom: what about the other flowers here ... we are standing on ... daffodils?
Douglas Story: Sunflower
spinster Voom: no, they're not are they?
spinster Voom: sunflowers?
spinster Voom: oh yes, i see it now
spinster Voom: the things i thought were daffs are the little flowerlets in the middle
Douglas Story: I like the moment when folks reorient to what they're seeing
spinster Voom: you really get in close
spinster Voom: :-)
Douglas Story: the camera will focus about 3/4 inch away
Douglas Story: 1.5 cm to you!
spinster Voom: nope! English are much comfier with imperial measurements
Douglas Story: (laughing)
spinster Voom: we invented them u know! lol
Douglas Story nods
Douglas Story: I'm a big fan of your language too.
Douglas Story: Very expressive.
spinster Voom: is it not your language too?
Douglas Story: It is.
Douglas Story: I'm being a smart-ass.
spinster Voom: oooooooookaaaaaaaaaay!
spinster Voom: hehe
Douglas Story: continue through, Miss Voom.
spinster Voom: k, will look for the arrow
Douglas Story: I will not watch your bum as you go up the tunnel

spinster Voom: don't mind, spent aaaaages on my bum!
Douglas Story: (laughing)
spinster Voom: what are the sounds we are hearing?
Douglas Story: They're from a library of stock music I use in my professional work.
Douglas Story: I got permission from the company to use 'em and edited them down to under 10 seconds
Douglas Story: so they could be used here in SL
spinster Voom: orchids?
Douglas Story: (smile)
Douglas Story: I LOVE when people can't tell what something is.
spinster Voom: *sigh*
Douglas Story: this is the back side of a sunflower
Douglas Story: all the hairy weird bits
Douglas Story: bought at the supermarket, photographed on my front porch in the sun
spinster Voom: the colours are unexpected for the back of a sunflower
Douglas Story nods

Douglas Story: A lot of things very, very close up suggest something else
Douglas Story: btw, these glasses don't work any better here than in RL
spinster Voom: hehe
spinster Voom: so, i understand the attraction of very close up photography ... the way it gives you a completely new perspective on things ...
spinster Voom: but why flowers in particular?
spinster Voom: feel like i am tripping!
Douglas Story: hehe.... I get that a lot.
spinster Voom: ah yes, i remember that feather too, i like the feather
Douglas Story: from a Great Horned Owl
Douglas Story: btw...your work is very, very interesting.
spinster Voom: you have seen my work?
Douglas Story: I've been on your web site, at least.
Douglas Story: I was fascinated by the ancient computer program Life
Douglas Story: way back.
spinster Voom: ah! haven't updated it in about a year lol
Douglas Story: the ambient light thing didn't work for me. :(
spinster Voom: no? wouldn't work, or u didn't like it?
Douglas Story: it didn't operate.
spinster Voom: oh dear
spinster Voom: it's a bit temperamental
spinster Voom: could try sending it to you as a java applet if you are interested
Douglas Story: please do.
spinster Voom: k
spinster Voom: :-)
Douglas Story: I have yet to visit the AI fish here in SL
Douglas Story: been meaning to do that.
spinster Voom: yes, i haven't seen them yet
Douglas Story: and only went by Svarga briefly. So much to explore!
spinster Voom: have you been to Svarga?
spinster Voom: ah! lol
spinster Voom: one of my fav hangouts
spinster Voom: peaceful :-)
spinster Voom: the image you are standing next to ... tree bark?

Douglas Story: yes. Eucalyptus
Douglas Story: I often rotate an image by 90 degrees
Douglas Story: the unexpected change in perspective
Douglas Story: throws off the viewer's awareness.
spinster Voom: gives it a landscapey feel
Douglas Story: exactly!
Douglas Story: it suggests an aerial view of a mesa
Douglas Story: in the American Southwest
spinster Voom: what's a mesa?
Douglas Story: a Spanish word for "table" but also a geographical term
Douglas Story: for...well...a flat-topped raised mountain.
Douglas Story: (bad definition, but you get the idea)
spinster Voom: oh yes i think i know
Douglas Story: Anyway....do continue.
spinster Voom: ok, yes, where were we...
spinster Voom: i was wondering whether you always choose natural subjects for your images
Douglas Story: Yes.
Douglas Story: well, that's not entirely accurate.
Douglas Story: but for this closeup series, yes.
spinster Voom: what is the attraction for you?
Douglas Story: Oh...are you going to make me wax philosophical?
spinster Voom: yes! lol
spinster Voom: they do remind me of Georgia O'Keefe
Douglas Story: thank you!
spinster Voom: you mention her in your statement i think
Douglas Story: yep yep
Douglas Story: At first, I was thinking that flowers were too obviously beautiful a subject for Art.
spinster Voom: *sigh* isn't it a shame you have to worry about art being too beautiful?
Douglas Story: I tend to think too much....and am always on the lookout for pretension
Douglas Story: even (or especially) in myself
spinster Voom: that makes you quite unusual for an artist
spinster Voom: i like your outlook
spinster Voom: it's refreshing
Douglas Story: Many artist's statements are SO ripe for satire.
Douglas Story: this is what I wrote in my first draft of my artist's statement:
Douglas Story: "My work takes a heuristic approach to the challenges of the contemporary zeitgeist, and seeks to push aside the enfeebled hegemony of the patriarchy to make way for a new Post-Post Modernist paradigm. Either that, or I'm trying to make pretty pictures. Hey, if flowers were good enough for Georgia O'Keefe, they're good enough for me." But a friend of mine in the art world persuaded me not to use it.
spinster Voom: oh.... stop it! lol
spinster Voom: have you come across the postmodernist text generator?
Douglas Story: No! but would love to see it.
spinster Voom: google it later
spinster Voom: it's a program that churns out postmodernist critical theory bollox
spinster Voom: u'll love it
Douglas Story: yes! I've seen ones that do that for movie trailers
Douglas Story: "In a world where nothing is real, one man must...."
spinster Voom: hahahahaha
Douglas Story: I write that kind of copy for a living....
Douglas Story: but back to business...
Douglas Story: Nature is the expression of god to me....it's how I get in touch.
spinster Voom: :-)
Douglas Story: the sense of wonder - of joy....
Douglas Story: this through science, too
Douglas Story: why the Christian Right has such a problem with science, I don't know.
spinster Voom: no, i always find things more beautiful with a bit of scientific understanding
Douglas Story: it's all this wonderful mystery....all these rules we don't yet understand.
Douglas Story: (I'm just babbling here)
spinster Voom: do go on ...
Douglas Story: If I go on, I'll end up with Something Pretentious.
Douglas Story: hehe
spinster Voom: hehe
spinster Voom: so for pages, we need succinct answers to three specific questions ...
spinster Voom: 1) how would you describe your work?
Douglas Story: my first response is "pretty"
Douglas Story:
spinster Voom: pretty, and ...
Douglas Story: ummmmm......
Douglas Story: unexpected
Douglas Story: surprising
spinster Voom: :-)
Douglas Story: colorful
Douglas Story: and pretty!
spinster Voom: lol ok ...
Douglas Story: what's the point of the Pages project, anyhoo?
spinster Voom: ok, pages ....
spinster Voom: we are all recent graduates or final year students, who have been sent on a mission ...
Douglas Story: A dangerous mission?
spinster Voom: lol could be!
spinster Voom: to find artists whose work inspires us in some way ...
spinster Voom: and ask them about their creative process, their own inspirations etc. ...
Douglas Story: well, color me honored, Miss Voom
spinster Voom: :-)
spinster Voom: you make me want to pick up a camera
spinster Voom: 2) who (or what) is your greatest influence?
Douglas Story: I'd have to say Edward Weston
Douglas Story: that pepper!
Douglas Story: big, big influence on everything I do.
spinster Voom: not familiar ...
Douglas Story: Oh yes! A giant in photography
spinster Voom: k, will have to look him up
Douglas Story: you'll see the pepper, I'm sure.
Douglas Story: the sexiest vegetable every photographed
spinster Voom: ooooeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrr!!!!!!!!
spinster Voom: anyone else u want to mention for that q?
Douglas Story: for inspiration for THIS project, I'll take you to a place next that you'll like.
spinster Voom: yes please
Douglas Story: I work in show business, and I wanted to create a bit of theater
Douglas Story: for an entrance to this gallery
Douglas Story: this is the only thing I've ever built in SL,
Douglas Story: and my skills are not great.
spinster Voom: yes, i love the walk through thingy
spinster Voom: am impressed
spinster Voom: all I've built is a frock lol
Douglas Story: this one?
spinster Voom: no
spinster Voom: can show u if u want
Douglas Story: please!
spinster Voom: k, avert your eyes...
spinster Voom: tada!
spinster Voom: hehe
Douglas Story: great!
spinster Voom: made the skirt, hat and cane
spinster Voom: oh, and shoes
spinster Voom: rest was freebies
Douglas Story: very cute!!!
spinster Voom: ty
Douglas Story: I love that big-petticoat look
spinster Voom: u should see it when i fly!
Douglas Story: (my wife was a clothing designer for many years)
spinster Voom: really?
spinster Voom: in rl, right?
Douglas Story: yes
Douglas Story: she's utterly unimpressed with anything about SL
spinster Voom: so's my bloke =-(
spinster Voom: specially with the amount of time i spend here
Douglas Story: I'll be raving about a Frank Lloyd Wright house here in SL,
Douglas Story: and she'll say, "But...it's not --real--!"
spinster Voom: of course it's real!
Douglas Story: I'll tell her you said so!
spinster Voom: i got told off yesterday for calling it a game
Douglas Story: (rolling eyes)
Douglas Story: people taking things way too seriously.
spinster Voom: "it's not a game it's a place!"
spinster Voom: hehe
Douglas Story: so....more questions?
spinster Voom: yes, one more ...
spinster Voom: 3) with whom would you most like to collaborate?
Douglas Story: Oh!
spinster Voom: sl or rl
Douglas Story: gosh......well, I did talk with AldoManutio Abruzzo briefly about
Douglas Story: using his music for sound design for a future project.
Douglas Story: and this project changed as I went along, based on suggestions from people.
spinster Voom: is that a sl or rl person?
Douglas Story: SL musician - very interesting,
Douglas Story: evocative, ambient stuff.
Douglas Story: reminds me of some of the things Robert Fripp has done
spinster Voom: makes music in-world?
Douglas Story: yes, yes.
spinster Voom: will have to look him up too
Douglas Story: join his list and go to one of his concerts
spinster Voom: that's what i really like about this project ...
spinster Voom: you contact one artist, then follow up their influences ...
Douglas Story: (smile)
spinster Voom: before you know it you have these big long chains of influence
spinster Voom: which sometimes cross and join up
Douglas Story: I loved Nebulosus' subversive installation about television, too
Douglas Story: it was ironic that I was in the same show as her at the Aho
spinster Voom: haven't seen that ...
spinster Voom: is it still there?
Douglas Story: no, but Stella Costelllo's amazing sculptures are in the neighborhood, too
Douglas Story: fun, playful, beautiful work, Ms. Costello does.
spinster Voom: the Aho?
Douglas Story: the Aho Gallery at NMC
Douglas Story: GREAT shows there all the time.
spinster Voom: lots of stuff to check out
Douglas Story: Autopilotpatty Poppy does wonderful macro flower photography, WAY too much like mine
Douglas Story: with the additional wrinkle of adding reflective mylar around the flowers
Douglas Story: amazing stuff
spinster Voom: reflective mylar?
Douglas Story: I'll show you.
spinster Voom: k
we teleport to the Aho Gallery, NMC to see Autopilotpatty Poppy's work ...
Douglas Story: I call her my Evil Nemesis
spinster Voom: just rezzing now ...

Douglas Story: some of hers looks very much like mine.
spinster Voom: no, these have a very different feel to your stuff
Douglas Story: but isn't it mysterious? I love her work
spinster Voom: well, that must be cos u hav captured the floral zeitgeist
Douglas Story: I do want to show you the caves
Douglas Story: on to the caves?

We teleport to the Bizarre Berry's Caves of Lascaux, on Modesta...

spinster Voom: k, so ... these are the caves...
Douglas Story: you know, ever since you proposed this interview,
Douglas Story: I've been thinking about my creative process,
Douglas Story: and how hard it is
spinster Voom: :-)
Douglas Story: you know these artist types you read about who are constantly on fire with creative energy,
Douglas Story: things just pouring out of them?
spinster Voom: yes... my river has been running dry for months now
Douglas Story nods
Douglas Story: for me...the art comes out kicking and screaming.
spinster Voom: yes, in spurts
Douglas Story: it takes a great deal of discipline to make myself do things.
Douglas Story: also, I tend to be very methodical
spinster Voom: yes ...
Douglas Story: I figure out what I have to learn, then go take lessons
Douglas Story: I admire people like a RL friend of mine who I introduced to SL just this week,
Douglas Story: he's already started building an aircraft carrier!
spinster Voom: wow!
Douglas Story: just jumps in and starts doing.
Douglas Story: I'm so cautious, sometimes.
spinster Voom: is he young by any chance?
Douglas Story: nope!
spinster Voom: oh!
spinster Voom: it's usually the youngsters who jump straight in
Douglas Story: it took me about 4 months to build that thing you saw.
Douglas Story: anyway...that's my true confession, Spinster
spinster Voom: i really liked it
Douglas Story: me too! I'm very proud of the build.
Douglas Story: it's a dream exhibition for me - I love art that's BIG....
Douglas Story: so to display my photos at that size - dream come true
spinster Voom: is it the first 3d modeling you've done?
Douglas Story: No, I've done some 3-d modeling in other programs,
Douglas Story: but it's so diff than working with prims
spinster Voom: now that you've built that, it would prolly be easier to build a bigger one
spinster Voom: or something different
Douglas Story: yes..I have to cogitate about what to do next
Douglas Story: but let me show you the caves.
spinster Voom: yes please
Douglas Story: I found this place early on....and you'll see the influence on my build.
Douglas Story: midnight light
Douglas Story: and mouselook!
Douglas Story: GOT to get you a decent walk!
spinster Voom: all the decent ones cost!
Douglas Story: and you can get freebie walks, you know.....!
spinster Voom: yes, i can choose from walking like a prostitute or a zombie! lol
Douglas Story: (laughing)
Douglas Story: watch your step
Douglas Story: oops
spinster Voom: thought the idea was to jump in! you did
Douglas Story: i tripped! hehe

Douglas Story: isn't this nice?
spinster Voom: yes, this is fantastic!
spinster Voom: these are the original Lascaux cave paintings?
Douglas Story: only some are
Douglas Story: the creator's a fascinating fellow
Douglas Story: I interviewed him for an article
spinster Voom: the influence on your work ... the way you move through it?
Douglas Story: exactly
Douglas Story: I love the theater of the cramped tunnel,
Douglas Story: opening up to this space
spinster Voom: yes, quite claustrophobic
Douglas Story: a technique that Frank Lloyd Wright used a lot, too....
Douglas Story: low ceilinged rooms, opening up to bigger spaces...
spinster Voom: i think this and your installations are the most cramped spaces I've moved through in SL
Douglas Story: he used to have a didgeridoo playing in here...I miss it.
spinster Voom: that must've been good
Douglas Story: Well, I'm cringing at the prospect of your publishing this interview
Douglas Story: people will find out I'm not a Real Artist.
Douglas Story:
spinster Voom: but i think it's a great interview
spinster Voom: honest and unpretentious
Douglas Story: thank you, dear!
Douglas Story: (and when I say "dear" it's with all the respect in the world)
spinster Voom: :-))))))))))
Douglas Story: btw....I've been to London many times
Douglas Story: my wife favors vacation spots that are green, damp and cold
spinster Voom: lol
spinster Voom: try Wales
Douglas Story: so we end up in the British Isles
spinster Voom: bloomin gorgeous here right now!
Douglas Story: I'll bet it is!
spinster Voom: hot
spinster Voom: for England lol
Douglas Story: been as far north as the Isle of Skye
Douglas Story: as far west as the Dingle Peninsula
spinster Voom: Dingle in Ireland?
Douglas Story: yes
spinster Voom: used to live in Donegal
Douglas Story: nice!
spinster Voom: miss that place a lot
Douglas Story: ever been to Sir John Soane's museum in London?
Douglas Story: (think that the name)
spinster Voom: yes!! what a place!!
Douglas Story: (big smile)
spinster Voom: cabinet of curiosities
Douglas Story: okay you....I think it's RL time for me.
Douglas Story: btw...if you want to see the crass commercial work I do...
Douglas Story: www.bigfatlies.net
spinster Voom: ok, would love to see ur crass commercial work lol
Douglas Story: honey, if sumpin on my reel doesn't make you laugh, there's something wrong
Douglas Story: with you or with me!
spinster Voom: hehe
spinster Voom: will look forward to seeing that then!
Douglas Story: adios, compadre
spinster Voom: bye xxx

PgUp Artists: Avatar Orchestra Metaverse

OPEN REHEARSAL TODAY!! - June 24, 11am, Virtual Haidplatz, Odyssey

A recent Avatar Orchestra Metaverse performance in Virtual Haidplatz, Odyssey
For the Pages Exhibition, each of our artists is answering a set of three questions, and providing us with a self-portrait and an image of the place they work, or sit and dream ...today, Avatar Orchestra Metaverse

how would you describe your work?

Maxmillian Nakamura (SL), Shintaro Miyazaki (RL): I work in the field of soundart especially the perception of noise and sounds. My genre is called pragmatic electroacoustica. As a member of Laptoporchester Berlin I collaborate with other soundartists and musicians in Berlin and elsewhere. That is where the idea of Avatar Orchestra Metaverse can be derived: An ensemble of musicians dispersed all over the world, connected through Second Life and exploring the artistic and social aspects of such a musical project.
self - portrait: Maximillian Namakura

Bluewave Ogee: As a new kind of artist, a virtual cyborg social networking artist exploring the artistic possibilities of interconnections between SL and RL experiences & perceptions - visually, aurally, viscerally, neurochemically - :-) ... music, music of the spheres, music of the metaverses, and so forth. Not a revolution but rather a transformation. Those should be verbs..not nouns ... not static.

Bingo Onomatopoeia: An incredible experiment - new instruments, new space, globally distributed. I love doing something for THE FIRST TIME - in My life, I mean. We are playing with the technology ... playing like with instruments - a transformation into a new medium.

Miulew Takahe: I think this way of working brings in very healthy doses of curiosity and joy - things impossible to be done - for let say 15 years ago - now are really reachable artistically. The work we do here is very much about communication.

Paco Mariani: Creative use of technical interfaces. In the end, art is a synonym for interfaces. SL is a sand box for us, probably, and after years of simulation with analog tech we´re able to do our job simultaneously, digitally, and the content isn't the problem.

Max's RL self portrait: Shintaro Miyazaki

Who or what is your greatest inspiration?

Maximillian Nakamura: Nam June Paik, John Cage, Ikeda Ryoji, Otomo Yoshihide, the mego gang, John Oswald, Carsten Nicolai, Classical German Music, Jodi, we make money not art, Curtis Roads, Friedrich Kittler.

Bingo Onomatopoeia: My own brain/mind :-) My imagination and what I see/hear in RL.

Paco Mariani: The transport of ideas.

Bluewave Ogee: Interconnected growing of ideas...improvising.

Miulew Takahe: The transformation of ideas into different expressions. Sometimes those ideas are so loose but they all tend to grow much faster in places like SL.

self portrait: Loop Luo

With whom would you most like to collaborate?

Maximillian Nakamura: Otomo Yoshihide, John Oswald, Sony, MOMA, ICC Tokyo, MIT, DEAF, Sonar, Transmediale, Ars Electronica

self-portrait: Bluewave Ogee

Bluewave Ogee: With my AOM friends! :-) With people whose paths I'd never be able to cross in RL! And there are so many people who have never let themselves explore music and art in RL -- and yet, somehow, here in SL they feel more willing to take a risk, take a chance, dive into communication (art) with others....It's marvelously liberating and creative. A new expression superhighway...with side eddies of beauty of course... :-)
Choirs ... I cannot wait until we can try that! Maybe using Skype or other VOIP.. but imagine a metaverse choral..choir..voices in=mprovising in real time together...The SL folkmusic, anthems, born here and only possible here! :-)

Bingo Onomatopoeia: Anybody who is open-minded and creative and skilled....like the ppl in SL/AOM

Miulew Takahe: I also would love to collaborate with some dancers because it is a bit hard to both play and do the hip dances at same time, but i think Bingo and others are working on that too. I would love to collaborate some more with live VJ.s or live SL FXs makers.

Paco Mariani: With the crew of Ars Electronica.

PgUp Artists: Wirxli Flimflam & Fwwixli Swindlehurst

For the Pages Exhibition, each of our artists is answering a set of three questions, and providing us with a self-portrait and an image of the place they work, or sit and dream ...

Wirxli Flimflam ...

self portrait

How would you describe your work?
I describe my work as conceptual and paternal ;-)

Who is your main influence?
My daughter and the hyper-liberal tolerance of Lindens and Furries towards the ageplay community. That answer is maybe only describing one influence but it related to our collaboration for your show more directly.

With whom would you most like to collaborate?
Other than my daughter? ok, another person is Alan Dojoji...I have asked him but no firm reply. Hopefully, also Fau Ferdinand.

Wirxli in his PR office burning critical theory texts in Second Life (picture by Wirxli Flimflam)

Fwwixli Swindlehurst ...

self portrait

How would you describe your work?
Controversial and humorous.
I'm Wirxli's side kick. We hang around in high profile events accompanied by our body guards.
I sit on dad's shoulders when lag it too bad for zooming around on my super kewl skateboard.
Then we blog.

Who is your main influence?
Ren and Stimpy, dad and Zodial Semple.

With whom would you most like to collaborate?
Same as above :)

This is Fwwixli's hiding spot in Nereid. (picture by Fwwixli Swindlehurst)

And here's the full interview ...

Fwwixli Swindlehurst, foster daughter of famous Second Front performance artist Wirxli Flimflam was born and raised into the wealthy but negligent Swindlehurst family and left barefoot, toyless and candyless on the paradise island owned by the Israeli artist Fau Ferdinand, and it is here on Fau's beach that i first meet Fwwixli, an obnoxious child with a blue face, a skateboard and some nasty habits ...

Fwwixli Swindlehurst: :)
spinster Voom: wow!
spinster Voom: hang on, you are still rezzing
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: ok
spinster Voom: yes, i can see the family resemblance!

Fwwixli proceeds to play a selection of childish, irritating gestures ...

Fwwixli Swindlehurst: No but,
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: yeah but,
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: no but,
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: yeah
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: London....
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: ...so secret...
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: ...controller of this vast network...
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: ...
spinster Voom: so fwwixli's personality is ?
spinster Voom: lol
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: ...upon who's shoulders...
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: ...ever alert...
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: ...cut away you fool!
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: she is a kid
spinster Voom: :-)
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: she swears
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: and is a total brat
spinster Voom: that is so cool!
spinster Voom: all the kids i've met here so far are nauseatingly cute
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: hehe
spinster Voom: hehe
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: we hang around in high profile events
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: with bodyguards
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: :-D
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: wirx is an sl celebrity
spinster Voom: yes, i saw wirxli at dorkbot
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: I'm the kid
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: he's my father
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: I sit on his shoulders when I'm not zooming around on my skateboard , making the bodyguards work for their money
spinster Voom: lol
spinster Voom: and what sort of reactions do you get?
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: not much yet
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: we got mentioned in avastar
spinster Voom: cool
spinster Voom: so for you, what is the rationale for this performance?
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: ageplay in sl is done between concenting adults
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: let them play here
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: instead of RL
spinster Voom: there's been huge controversy about it lately hasn't there?
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: yeah
spinster Voom: i went to a feminist discussion on child avies ...
spinster Voom: ones who were not involved in the sex side of things
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: wirx says it reminds him how homosexuals were hunted in the 60's
spinster Voom: they were ... "reclaiming " their childhoods
spinster Voom: yes, there is a bit of that about it
spinster Voom: to be honest, i do have quite mixed feelings about age-play ...
spinster Voom: on the one hand, i agree it's a bit of a witch-hunt ...
spinster Voom: about something going on between consenting adults ...
spinster Voom: but then i wonder whether it doesn't encourage some dodgy off-line behaviour, not involving consenting adults
spinster Voom: i suppose that's what makes your performance so interesting ....
spinster Voom: makes people think
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: that's what we want
spinster Voom: :-)
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: :-D
spinster Voom: so, how d'you want to do this ...
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: not sure
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: you might use the blog
spinster Voom: there's the interview bit ... although actually i could use a lot of the "chat" from today ...
spinster Voom: is it just you i'd be interviewing, or Wirxli too?
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: I'll ask

For some reason, Fwwixli's avatar keeps slipping into "away" mode ...

spinster Voom: you are a dozy child fwwixli
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: wirx wouldn't mind
spinster Voom: that'd be cool
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: I have no idea why this is happening
spinster Voom: are you smoking? lol
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: my foster aunt chi gave me fags
spinster Voom: bad auntie! lol
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: read the blog hehe
spinster Voom: k, will do
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: naaaa she's a great aunt
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: cigs and lollies
spinster Voom: bad aunties always are :-)
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: and wirx gives me mind expanding drugs
spinster Voom: very cool

In a spirit of generous friendship, i offer Fwwix a tab of acid ...

Fwwixli Swindlehurst declined your inventory offer.
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: I have those meh
spinster Voom: ah i see! past the point of further possible corruption! lol
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: hehe
spinster Voom: so did you look at the questions in the pages blurb?
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: all I have is the notecard max sent around
spinster Voom: i think they're on there ... hang on ...
spinster Voom: yes, down near the bottom ...
spinster Voom: how would you describe your work ... well, you've already described it quite well unless there is anything else you want to add?
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: not really
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: and I'm collaborating with the people I want
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: :)))
spinster Voom: :-) that is so cool
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: gazira is the hottest artist in sl atm
spinster Voom: what about your influences?
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: second front too
spinster Voom: yes, i love Gazira's stuff
spinster Voom: i'd love to see a second front performance
spinster Voom: are there any coming up?
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: oh they have back log of 7
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: hehe
spinster Voom: will you let me know when there's one happening?
spinster Voom: you don't tend to advertise do you?
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: sure thing
spinster Voom: :-)
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: if you're willing to screw your sleep cycles
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: like I do constantly
spinster Voom: haven't had a normal night's sleep since i started this damned game! lol
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: shhh don't call it a game
spinster Voom: oops!
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: it's a place
spinster Voom: place
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: a platform
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: a vr
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: but a game ?
spinster Voom: an insomniacs hell
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: hahaha
spinster Voom: no ur right, it's just i spend so much time here just ... piddling about
spinster Voom: setting fire to myself and doing the time warp
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: hehe
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: can I ask you a few questions ?
spinster Voom: of course, pls do
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: how are you connected to the gallery ?
spinster Voom: the notice gallery in deptford?
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: yeah
spinster Voom: ok, well i'm not connected to the gallery as such, i'm employed as a researcher for this project
spinster Voom: it's done in association with London Metropolitan University
spinster Voom: the lead on the project is Nici Oxley and it's her gallery
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: who are the rl artists that take part ?
spinster Voom: do you know the gallery? it used to be the museum of installations
spinster Voom: rl artists ... so far, i have Amy Alexander, who is a code artist from America
spinster Voom: and Elizabeth Schimana who does theremin performances
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: I love them
spinster Voom: other people have recruited different artists from all sorts of disciplines
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: I almost got one myself :)
spinster Voom: there are 10 of us all together and we should have about 40 artists taking part in one way or another
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: :)
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: great :)
spinster Voom: but the list will not be finalised until 8th May or shortly thereafter
spinster Voom: yes theremins ... :-)
spinster Voom: i'm halfway thru building one
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: ah
spinster Voom: as a "keepsake" from my conversation with Elizabeth
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: wicked :)
spinster Voom: so we can have it in the gallery for people to have a go
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: :))))))))))))))
spinster Voom: so, do you think you're on board with the pages thing?
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: def
spinster Voom: :-)
spinster Voom: would you like to meet up rl, or do the whole thing thru sl?
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: sl
spinster Voom: :-)
spinster Voom: was hoping u would, i like the process of doing stuff here
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: :)))
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: me too
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: one more question
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: my photos
spinster Voom: yes, photos
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: could they be sl snaps ?

Fwwixli Swindlehurst: excuse my spelling
spinster Voom: lol
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: hehe
spinster Voom: sorry ur bringin out the kid in me :-)
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: haha
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: we're all kids
spinster Voom: :-)

So the following day, I travel to meet Fwwixli's foster father at his PR office on Odyssey. Time differences mean that while it is 8am for me, Wirxli is just coming to the end of a long night. I find him talking to fellow artist Fau Ferdinand ...

Wirxli Flimflam: howdy!
Wirxli Flimflam: Spinster, welcome to my PR office
spinster Voom: hi wirxli, good to meet u at last
Wirxli Flimflam: Fau, i think you have been here before
Wirxli Flimflam: Spinster, I have seen your name around
Wirxli Flimflam: I think we have been at some of the same events together
spinster Voom: yes, been to a couple of exhibs
Fau Ferdinand: :)
spinster Voom: and dorkbot
spinster Voom: sorry fau, tp'd on ur head lol
Wirxli Flimflam: yeah, ok
Wirxli Flimflam: lol!
Fau Ferdinand: hehe yup
Fau Ferdinand: you messed up my do :pppppp
spinster Voom: so, been looking at your blogs
Wirxli Flimflam: so pardon me this eve if I seem a bit messed up..I am a bit drunk and suffering sleep dep in RL ;-)
Wirxli Flimflam: I am trying to keep up appearances tonight
spinster Voom: you still look great fau
Wirxli Flimflam: ok...great
Wirxli Flimflam: must be her prim hair..hahahahahahaha
spinster Voom: lol, was a bit trolleyed last night
Wirxli Flimflam: heheheheheheh
Wirxli Flimflam: aren't we all
spinster Voom: today, just hung over
Wirxli Flimflam: yeah....whoa!
Fau Ferdinand: heh
Wirxli Flimflam: if I seem to have no inhibitions whatsoever and crammed with dumb typos, that is why ;-)
spinster Voom: lol could be interesting
Wirxli Flimflam: I am concentrating very hard just to even type
spinster Voom: Fwwixli has told you about the pages thing?
spinster Voom: ur typing is impeccable
Wirxli Flimflam: I know bits and pieces
Wirxli Flimflam: I want to know more
Wirxli Flimflam: intense concentration is allowing me to type..it is not natural right now
spinster Voom: ok, well the exhib is primarily about process and inspiration
Wirxli Flimflam: ok
spinster Voom: there are ten or so of us researchers who have been let loose to find people whose art inspires us
Wirxli Flimflam: kewl!
Wirxli Flimflam: ok, please forgive me but I have been offered alot of shows and I am getting exhibitions mixed up,,,this is in London in RL, right?
spinster Voom: and to interview them about how they go about creating work ...
spinster Voom: yes, in London
spinster Voom: who inspires them ...
Wirxli Flimflam: awesome!
spinster Voom: etc etc
Wirxli Flimflam: ok, I have remembered the right show then ;-)
spinster Voom: from which point ...
spinster Voom: we can take it pretty much where we want
Wirxli Flimflam: ok
Wirxli Flimflam: great
Wirxli Flimflam: so,Fau told you about my daughter Fwwix, right?
spinster Voom: the interview centers around a set of three questions...
Wirxli Flimflam: ok...
spinster Voom: and a request for two images ...
Wirxli Flimflam: is the interview now? I need to sober up..lol!
Wirxli Flimflam: ok
spinster Voom: these will be in the catalogue
Wirxli Flimflam: np
spinster Voom: we can do the interview whenever you like
Wirxli Flimflam: kewl, I am down with that
spinster Voom: the idea is to then generate "keepsakes" for the actual exhibition
Wirxli Flimflam: I can try and respond to your interview now
spinster Voom: which could be anything
Wirxli Flimflam: have you interviewed Fwwix yet?
spinster Voom: ok, but let me know if u too tired
spinster Voom: cool
Wirxli Flimflam: ok
spinster Voom: had a brief chat with Fwwix yesterday :-)
Fau Ferdinand: my brain is lagging
Wirxli Flimflam: ok...good
Wirxli Flimflam: my brain is also lagging, Fau
Wirxli Flimflam: let me take a pic or two of this interview for my blog
spinster Voom: lol, mine too if honest
Wirxli Flimflam: if I suck at this interview now, can we re-do the interview?
Fau Ferdinand: 2.5 hours of sleep does that
Wirxli Flimflam: yikes!
spinster Voom: of course!
Wirxli Flimflam: I at least get 4-5 hours
Wirxli Flimflam: let me take a pic..one sec...
Wirxli Flimflam: Fau, Chi5 says hi :-)
Fau Ferdinand: :)
Fau Ferdinand: hehehe
Wirxli Flimflam: I need to get an email for Wirxli
Wirxli Flimflam: it is too lame to be my RL self
Fau Ferdinand: haha
Wirxli Flimflam: everyone is better in SL, lets face it
spinster Voom: well i certainly am lol
Wirxli Flimflam: heheheheheh
Fau Ferdinand: :-D
Wirxli Flimflam: I am certainly much hotter in SL
Wirxli Flimflam: much taller, darker and more handsome
spinster Voom: so... are we up to the interview now? i am aware it is past your bedtime, wirx
Fau Ferdinand: don't listen to him spinster
Wirxli Flimflam: yeah..first let me take a pic or two for my blog
spinster Voom: yes, i've seen u on fire i think lol
Fau Ferdinand: he's a good looking bastard
Wirxli Flimflam: heheheheheheheheheheheheheheh
Wirxli Flimflam: thanks Fau
Wirxli Flimflam: here is your L$1 payment...
spinster Voom: :-)
Fau Ferdinand: :)
Wirxli Flimflam: ok..one sec
Wirxli Flimflam: pic time and then I am ready but...should Fwwix be interviewed with me ?
Wirxli Flimflam: this is where i am confused
Wirxli Flimflam: ageplay was the original idea
Wirxli Flimflam: heheheheheheheheheheheheh
Wirxli Flimflam: I will blog this on the Fwwix blog
spinster Voom: cool
Wirxli Flimflam: sometime tomorrow

Fau departs for real life, and Wirxli begins to tell me a little about his relationship with Fwwixli ...
Wirxli Flimflam: it is all about optics
spinster Voom: visuals?
Wirxli Flimflam: and haptics ;-)
Wirxli Flimflam: heheheheh
Wirxli Flimflam: yep
Wirxli Flimflam: and touching ;-)
spinster Voom: haptics ...
spinster Voom: touching ....
spinster Voom: am now confused lol
Wirxli Flimflam: heheheheh
Wirxli Flimflam: j/k
spinster Voom: heehhee
Wirxli Flimflam: it would be rather controversial to have a haptic interface for our ageplay collaboration,, eh? ;-)
spinster Voom: could you explain what a haptic interface is?
Wirxli Flimflam: one that involves touching
Wirxli Flimflam: from what I understand
spinster Voom: ah! i see, yes VERY controversial!

Fwwixli arrives, to join the interview ...

Wirxli Flimflam: hey Fwwix!
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: hey dad
spinster Voom: hi fwwixli
Wirxli Flimflam: just talking about our fave subject..touching ;-)
Wirxli Flimflam: you know, haptic interfaces
spinster Voom: do they actually exist?
Wirxli Flimflam: yes, in the 1990s they did
Wirxli Flimflam: out of fashion now
Wirxli Flimflam: not sure if anyone has made one for SL
spinster Voom: can't imagine them being very ... satisfying lol
Wirxli Flimflam: heheheheheh
Wirxli Flimflam: yeah, kinda clunky
Wirxli Flimflam: ok..pic time
Wirxli Flimflam: hold that pose

spinster Voom: cool
spinster Voom: may i take a couple too?
Wirxli Flimflam: of course
Wirxli Flimflam: let me stand beside you both
Wirxli Flimflam: do you mind turning your back to the PR office for the pic?
Wirxli Flimflam: we will all pose in front of it
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: I want to ride you dad
spinster Voom: yep, fire in background
Wirxli Flimflam: heheheheh...no wonder you are my very own, Fwwix -)
Wirxli Flimflam: ok
Wirxli Flimflam: go ahead, Fwwix...hop on
Wirxli Flimflam: heheheheh
spinster Voom: k, ready? ...
Wirxli Flimflam: I took a silent one
Wirxli Flimflam: pasting it to paint
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: nope
spinster Voom: that's better, u were riding ur dad's face! lol
Wirxli Flimflam: I need to take another one because you were looking the other way, Spin
Wirxli Flimflam: lol!
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: yeah
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: on porpose !!!
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: purpose even
Wirxli Flimflam: heheheheh
spinster Voom: oh dear! lol! think this might be an interesting interview!
Wirxli Flimflam: let me walk closer to you
Wirxli Flimflam: and take a pic from another angle
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: DanCoyote is a great inspiration
Wirxli Flimflam: hehehehehehehehehehehahahahahahahahahaha
spinster Voom: Dancoyote is an inspiration to Fwwix?
Wirxli Flimflam: is he, Fwwix?
Wirxli Flimflam: I took a good enough pic
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: internal artists joke
Wirxli Flimflam: I will just blog 2 pix
Wirxli Flimflam: yeah, very internal
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: I knew dad would laugh
Wirxli Flimflam: hehehehe
spinster Voom: k, i got a couple of ok ones too
Wirxli Flimflam: very predictable, I know
Wirxli Flimflam: ok
Wirxli Flimflam: if you email them to me, I can blog them unless you plan to archive the pix yourself, Spin
spinster Voom: will do! i have a flickr account too, but i've only just joined - don't think my pics show up yet
Wirxli Flimflam: ok...np
spinster Voom: ok...
spinster Voom: before we get too "free range" ...
Wirxli Flimflam: k...
spinster Voom: i do need answers to the three questions from you both ...
Wirxli Flimflam: of course
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: ok
spinster Voom: ok... how would you describe your work?
Wirxli Flimflam: I describe my work as conceptual and paternal ;-)
Wirxli Flimflam: but you want more than that, right?
spinster Voom: that's fine for these three q's, short is fine
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: controvertional ,homourous
Wirxli Flimflam: ok
spinster Voom: ok, great...
Wirxli Flimflam: heheheh
spinster Voom: next ... who is your greatest influence?
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: excuse my spelling I havn't started school yet
Wirxli Flimflam: my daughter and the hyper-liberal tolerance of Lindens and Furries towards the ageplay community
Wirxli Flimflam: yeah, Fwwix has learned to write before she learned to red
Wirxli Flimflam: read
Wirxli Flimflam: hahahahaha
spinster Voom: is your answer a little tongue in cheek, wirxli?
Wirxli Flimflam: ummm..well..
Wirxli Flimflam: that answer is maybe only describing one influence
Wirxli Flimflam: but it related to our collaboration for your show more directly
Wirxli Flimflam: it is related...
Wirxli Flimflam: exactly, Fwwix
spinster Voom: aha ... have i had an answer to that one from you, fwwix?
Wirxli Flimflam: my answers are always targeted towards the context of the interviewer
spinster Voom: how do you see my context?
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: sec
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: I'm the sidekick
Wirxli Flimflam: well, I see this as a collaboration between myself and Fwwix for your exhibition project
spinster Voom: ok
spinster Voom: cool
spinster Voom: third then ...
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: I'm trying to dig my memory for well known side kicks
Wirxli Flimflam: Robin...
Wirxli Flimflam: Tonto
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: no no
spinster Voom: who would you most like to collaborate with?
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: there was this american tv show about this guy who has a tv talk show
Wirxli Flimflam: other than my daughter?
Wirxli Flimflam: Regis, Fwwix?
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: his sidekick was bald and had a moustache
Wirxli Flimflam: ummmm..hmmm..dunno
spinster Voom: yes, but i have noted that your daughter is a favourite collaborator
Wirxli Flimflam: ok
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: hehe
Wirxli Flimflam: but you want me to add an additional collaborator that I would love to work with?
spinster Voom: if there is one
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: just been in the right place at the right time
spinster Voom: appropriate to this context
Wirxli Flimflam: Alan Dojoji...I have asked him but no firm reply
Wirxli Flimflam: hopefully, also Fau Ferdinand
spinster Voom: you can always get back to me if you think of anyone else
Wirxli Flimflam: ok
spinster Voom: right now ...
spinster Voom: could you tell me about how your foster relationshi[p came about?
Wirxli Flimflam: well, the whole story is on our blog
Wirxli Flimflam: but..I read this article in the Ava-Star about adoption and thought it was time to finally adopt
Wirxli Flimflam: so with the help of my artist friend, Fau Ferdinand, i was able to locate Fwwixli
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: I only do it for the drugz !!!!
Wirxli Flimflam: and now here we are
spinster Voom: lol
Wirxli Flimflam: yes, I drug her enough so she still wants to stay with me
spinster Voom: so can you describe your relationship a bit pls?
Wirxli Flimflam: ummmm...can we?
spinster Voom: yes i think she was a little faceless yesterday! lol
Wirxli Flimflam: yes!
Wirxli Flimflam: well, we deal drugs together..you know, family income, that sort of thing
Wirxli Flimflam: I am a hyper-liberal
spinster Voom: mmhmm...
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: rez ixxli
Wirxli Flimflam: we do not think ageplay should be banned...no one understands that
Wirxli Flimflam: ok
Wirxli Flimflam: ok...allow me to introduce you to iixlii
Wirxli Flimflam: my drug dealer for Fwwix Aid
Wirxli Flimflam: these days, I need iixlii to raise money for bodyguards
spinster Voom: yes, Fwwixli was saying yesterday that she feels ageplay should be allowed here because it's all consenting adults
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: click on ixxli spinster
Wirxli Flimflam: all adults for real?
iixlii - Wirxli's drug dealer 4 Fwwix Aid: Enjoy.
iixlii - Wirxli's drug dealer 4 Fwwix Aid gave you absynthe.

Wirxli Flimflam: mmm..did you tip for charity? sorry to be crass
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: hehe best way to sart a day
Wirxli Flimflam: heheheh I find absinthe to be a bit too mild
spinster Voom: well, yes, that is a concern isn't it? both my kids have managed to get accounts on sl
Wirxli Flimflam: wow!
spinster Voom: no, do i just pay you?
Wirxli Flimflam: on the teen grid? the tween grid or...

Gumnosophistai Nurmi: soemhow unstable :-)
Gumnosophistai Nurmi: hello
Wirxli Flimflam: that will go towards bodyguard services
Wirxli Flimflam: hey Gumno
Wirxli Flimflam: we are all unstable here
Gumnosophistai Nurmi: the sim is not all right its brown on map?
spinster Voom: yes, i saw your bodyguard at Gazira's exhib ... quite scary!
Wirxli Flimflam: that is the usual grid crash, Gum
Wirxli Flimflam: scary? naw, he is a professional
Gumnosophistai Nurmi: saw you had a gig for AOM :-)
Wirxli Flimflam: Spin, can I TP my colleague , Tran?
Wirxli Flimflam: yeah, Gum, can you make it?

Wirxli Flimflam: not sure where we left off
Gumnosophistai Nurmi: was just lurking around, didnt now this is your PR office
Wirxli Flimflam: this problem was local..RL wireless connection failure
Wirxli Flimflam: synchronicity, eh Gumno? ;-)

Wirxli Flimflam: welcome :-)

Wirxli Flimflam: kewl
Wirxli Flimflam: sorry about that Gum
Gumnosophistai Nurmi: :-)
Gumnosophistai Nurmi: is a game, afterall
Wirxli Flimflam: I did not know you then and you bumped into my personal space so my guard and me had every reason to be paranoid
Gumnosophistai Nurmi: sure enough
Wirxli Flimflam: I trust you now :-0
Gumnosophistai Nurmi: I am still blue
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: blue is a good colour
Wirxli Flimflam: yeah,.from all the bruises...and Fwwixli has gang green but I will not explain why
Wirxli Flimflam: heheheheh
Gumnosophistai Nurmi: exactly
spinster Voom: gang green???
Wirxli Flimflam: j/k, Fwwix
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: hehe
Gumnosophistai Nurmi: funny thing, I never heard of Blue Man Group before entering here, and now i look like one
Wirxli Flimflam: it is really all the chain smoking that did it to Fwwix
spinster Voom: no, u look much cooler
Gumnosophistai Nurmi: thanks
Wirxli Flimflam: I saw Blue Man Group in Vegas in RL...
Wirxli Flimflam: yes, you are much better
Gumnosophistai Nurmi: i make better music too
Wirxli Flimflam: great!
spinster Voom: :-)
Wirxli Flimflam: what? you do not play with that box of cereal?
Gumnosophistai Nurmi: http://www.expandedfield.net/
Wirxli Flimflam: thanks!
spinster Voom: so... if i can be sensible for a moment ...
Wirxli Flimflam: ok
spinster Voom: have i got this right ...
spinster Voom: you two have formed a "familial" relationship ...
Wirxli Flimflam: yes...exactly
Gumnosophistai Nurmi: okay, ill leave the sensible stuff to you .-)
Gumnosophistai Nurmi: c u later
Wirxli Flimflam: heheheheheh
spinster Voom: as a kind of comment on Linden's attitude to age-play?
Wirxli Flimflam: keep in touch Gumno
spinster Voom: bye gum
Wirxli Flimflam: we are who we are
spinster Voom: ok...
Wirxli Flimflam: ageplay is an influence
Wirxli Flimflam: the last taboo for SL to transcend over RL culture
Wirxli Flimflam: to be 18 months ahead of mainstream RL society
spinster Voom: ah ... i must admit it does make me feel somewhat ... uncomfortable
spinster Voom: that is your intention?
Wirxli Flimflam: what makes you feel uncomfortable?
spinster Voom: the whole idea of age play...
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: her kids silly
Wirxli Flimflam: heheheh..oh..right
spinster Voom: this is in no way a criticism of what you are doing
Wirxli Flimflam: ok...are you sure?
spinster Voom: yes, i suppose because i have kids muyself
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: on sl too
Wirxli Flimflam: yeah
Wirxli Flimflam: I have a kid in RL
spinster Voom: no, i think good art should not shy away from the uncomfortable
Wirxli Flimflam: ok
spinster Voom: not on sl
Wirxli Flimflam: nope
Wirxli Flimflam: just Fwwix
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: good
spinster Voom: am too much of a kid here myself lol
Wirxli Flimflam: heheheheh...
spinster Voom: but your work must make a lot of people .... squirm a bit!
Wirxli Flimflam: not many people have seen our work
Wirxli Flimflam: we are just getting to know each other first
Wirxli Flimflam: and I think for your show, we are finally able to collaborate together on something artistic for you
spinster Voom: that would be great
spinster Voom: i was saying to fwwix yesterday...
Wirxli Flimflam: ok...
spinster Voom: that what i would really like to set up for the exhib
spinster Voom: is a rl/sl tie-in
spinster Voom: screen projection from sl...
Wirxli Flimflam: oh...
spinster Voom: streamed video from the gallery
Wirxli Flimflam: SL to RL, right?
Wirxli Flimflam: great
spinster Voom: you'd be ok with that?
Wirxli Flimflam: need to clarify
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: both ways no ?
Wirxli Flimflam: what we do in SL, will be broadcast/projected into RL, right?
spinster Voom: so people in the gallery could enjoy some performances from sl
Wirxli Flimflam: yes
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: kewl
Wirxli Flimflam: as long as there is no RL from me and Fwwix
spinster Voom: and people on sl could enjoy some performances from the gallery
Wirxli Flimflam: yes, I think we would prefer that our work is broadcast also into an RL gallery
Wirxli Flimflam: ok
spinster Voom: absolutely not
spinster Voom: you would just be wirxli and fwwix
Fwwixli Swindlehurst: about rl identities that was dad
Wirxli Flimflam: ok..I am kewl with that
Wirxli Flimflam: I was hoping that we would have RL projection
Wirxli Flimflam: :-)
spinster Voom: i still have to sort out ALL the technical details lol
Wirxli Flimflam: when is the show again?
spinster Voom: any advice gratefully received
Wirxli Flimflam: where in London is it again?

mention of London sets off Fwwixli's gesture mania once again ...
